1. Commitment to Achieving Net Zero
Masters is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050, in line with UK Government policy.
2. Baseline Emissions Footprint
2.1 Baseline Year- Planned Baseline Year: 2025
- Baseline Emissions: This is the first year against which future emissions will be measured.
Baseline Emissions- Masters plan to measure the Carbon emissions during 2025-2026 to use as a baseline and to start measuring carbon reduction from 2026-2027
3. Carbon Reduction ProjectsThe following initiatives have already been implemented or are planned:
- Energy Efficiency: LED lighting, upgrading appliances to current energy standards.
- Renewable Energy: Switching to 100% renewable electricity supply and investigating on-site solar PV.
- Transport: Transition to electric and Hybrid vehicles, encouraging active travel and public transport.
- Supply Chain: Engaging suppliers to measure and reduce emissions, favouring low-carbon products.
- Waste Management: Reduce waste to landfill, increase recycling, and reduction of single-use plastics.
- Digital Solutions: Reducing paper use, hybrid working to cut travel.
